Thumb Screws & Nuts
Thumb screws and nuts are designed with a similar function to hand screws which are created with the intention of being installed or removed without the use of power or hand tools. The main difference between thumb and hand screws is that hand screws are generally produced with a plastic head and thumb screws are designed with grooves or patterned engraving into a metal head which allows for ease in grip and handling.
Thumb screws and nuts are generally used within computer or electronic equipment or hardware and are designed with external knurling applied to the screw head, which aids in grip and handling. This feature allows for ease of repeated installation.
