Applications for 316 Stainless Steel Springs
316 stainless steel springs are low carbon and rust-resistant. This makes them particularly well suited for applications where they'll be regularly exposed to liquids. Some examples include medical, food, and marine applications, though they can be used in any application interchangeably with our regular 302 stainless steel springs.
All our 316 Stainless Steel springs include standard passivation which adds additional strength and resistance to moisture and other outside forces.
Medical
Due to their rust-resistant nature, 316 springs are heavily relied upon in the medical industry and are found in several medical products, processes, and pharmaceuticals.
Food
316 stainless steel springs resist moisture and rust build-up and are recommended for food-grade applications such as food processing and handling equipment.
Marine
316 springs resist rust and corrosion and therefore are ideal for marine applications where exposure to damaging saltwater is expected.
