Incoloy

Super Alloy for Demanding Applications

Incoloy is an iron / nickel / chromium super alloy appropriate for static applications that require high tensile strength, oxidation and corrosion resistance.

Grades / Attributes

Incoloy A-286 was developed in the late 1960s as an economical alternative for Inconel® X-750, which had become quite expensive.

Spring Applications

Best suited for static and low-deflection spring applications and fasteners that are subjected to high temperatures, A-286 is used in often used in the valve market.

Material Benefits

Incoloy A-286 has one-third the nickel content of Inconel® X-750, making it an economical alternative, though wire size options are limited.

Considerations

While Incoloy is an alternative for Inconel® X-750 in many applications, higher corrosion resistance may necessitate the use of Inconel®.
